Dialysis Support for Lola (Grandma) Luz
Donation protected
"No act of kindness no matter how small is ever wasted." - Aesop
Make Lola (Grandma) Luz’s 72nd birthday even more meaningful with your generosity of at least $1 to help fund her dialysis sessions which she needs three times a week in the Philippines.
Since March 23, 2017, Lola’s life has been extended because of the dialysis sessions she gets three times a week. Her kidneys are not working anymore, and she has other health issues such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, allergies, hypertension and gout. This is not to mention CEREBRAL ANEURYSM that her doctors has warned us of which they compare to a ticking timebomb.
It is close to impossible to be on the kidney donor list in a third world country such as the Philippines. The family has been subsidizing her expenses while also trying to get some help from the Philippine government by lining up with Lola Luz as early as 4am in the morning in Philippine government offices. It is a very sad and heartbreaking case in this country where the sick, who could not afford to pay for private health care, have to wake up as early as three in the morning, take public transportation and endure the torturous Philippine traffic and extreme hot and humid climate, and sometimes even rainy and stormy weather, in order to line up and practically beg for help and support from the government.
As stated in the change.org petition, “Increase Philhealth-covered Hemodialysis Sessions to 156 per year”,:
“There are 52 weeks per year and at 3 hemodialysis sessions per week, that's a total of 156 sessions per year. Currently, Philhealth subsidizes 90 sessions per year. After which, the patient needs to fund the continuing sessions for the rest of the year. That's about P184,000 pesos or $3500 US Dollars (66 additional sessions x 2,800 per session) needed for the rest of the year..."
Lola Luz’s monthly dialysis expenses are estimated at P39, 200 pesos or $750 (P2800 x 14 sessions). In addition, her monthly medicine expenses cost over P25,000 pesos or about $500 US Dollars per month. That is about P64, 200 or $1227 every month that the family has to produce.
We implore you to please help Lola Luz extend her life by contributing as little as $1 to help fund her dialysis sessions which she needs three times a week. She and her family are sincerely and deeply grateful for your support. She looks forward to spend a few more years making good memories with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
