Diallo Family Fund

We want to start out by saying that our co-worker, Ramata, is one of the most gracious and giving people we know.  She is a mother, a wife, and an ER nurse.  She has a loving husband and four beautiful children who she would do anything in the world for.  She works two jobs and still finds the time to be very present in her family's school activities and functions.  

Her youngest daughter, Hafsatou, just turned 8 on June 30th.  She was recently diagnosed with a rare and, unfortunately, very agressive cancer called Round Cell Sarcoma.  This has truly been a blow to the entire family and their lives have been turned upside down.  Hafsatou started chemo treatments (the first treatment on her 8th birthday) with the hope that the tumor will shrink enough in size so that surgery may be performed.  

Hafsatou is a bright and charming little girl who enjoys the girly things in life.  She loves to dress up, play with her brothers and sister, and play video games.  She has been handling her treatments so far with great resolve.  But she is just at the beginning of all that she will have to go through, everything that a young child should never have to face. 

Having a child with cancer brings with it so much for the family.  Ramata is now taking time from work in order to focus all her energy on Hafsatou.  There are multiple long car trips to Children's Medical Center.  The house has to be upgraded for Hafsatou to live in safely.  She will be missing out on school in the fall while undergoing her treatments.  And I'm sure a million other small and large things that will need to be done over the next few weeks and months.  

So we are asking for financial help in order to take some of the burden off the Diallo family during this time.  They are still in a state of shock and would appreciate any help you can offer.
