Dialight Foundation - 2021 Fundraiser

We recognize that Dialight has an important role to play in our local community. COVID-19 has resulted in unprecedented hardship especially in some areas where we have facilities. In these challenging times, it is not just about Dialight being a good employer but about giving back to the communities in which we operate. In June 2020 the Dialight Foundation was formed to help transform the lives of people in need in local communities where the company does business, with a focus on supporting children and women’s causes.

It is that time of year again where we are seeking support to continue and expand upon the work of the Foundation in 2022.

Our initial fundraiser raised over $60,000 USD which helped provide essential supplies, appliances, and furniture to 3 orphanages in Mexico, 70 backpacks filled with school supplies for lower income elementary school students in the Roxboro, NC area, and allowed us to be the sole sponsor of the Women's Earth Alliance's COVID and Climate Resilience project in Tijuana, Mexico which helped provide meals and information to thousands of asylum seekers. Additionally, we were able to provide comprehensive legal support and shelter to 67 people so far. None of this would have been possible without the generous support of our employees, families, and other supporters.

Looking ahead to 2022, the Foundation is focused on expanding our impact in 3 key areas. Your support will go directly towards

initiatives such as those outlined below as well as other projects led by the Dialight Foundation that may come up throughout the year. Projects are subject to change at the discretion of the Dialight Foundation board based on emerging needs as they arise.

1. Continued Support of our Local Causes

Throughout the pandemic, the Dialight Foundation has provided essential supplies to a variety of orphanages and local schools in the US and Mexico. In some cases, we also provided holiday celebrations for the children. We are committed to our local communities and are looking to maintain and expand our support during these difficult times wherever possible.

2. Expanding our Geographic Impact

In 2022, the Dialight Foundation is looking to build upon our work in the US and Mexico with charitable projects in close proximity to Penang, Malaysia where we have a manufacturing site that supports our APAC and EMEA business. We are currently in the process of conducting due diligence on a number of charities supporting children and women's causes.

3. Transforming the Industrial World by Empowering the Next Generation

Dialight has been a proud partner of the Women’s Earth Alliance and was the sole sponsor of their COVID and Climate Relief program in Tijuana, MX in 2021. In 2022, the Dialight Foundation is considering sponsoring WEA’s Accelerator program which develops and

empowers women leaders to help establish critical environmental and climate solutions that strengthen local economies, protect natural resources and human health, and draw down carbon. With Dialight Foundation’s partnership, WEA will catalyze 60 women-led,

grassroots sustainability initiatives globally to reach 500k+ people with critical environmental and climate initiatives, including upcycling plastic pollution, developing clean energy solutions, removing toxins from our environment, planting trees, growing sustainable food and providing education about women’s health, and more.

Please help us to reach our goal of $50,000 USD. Dialight will match up to $10,000 of employee donations. All are welcome to donate.  Our target campaign end date is December 18, 2021. In addition to funding items noted above, funds received will be directly used to support global charitable projects led by the Dialight Foundation.
