Help Nick Kick Cancers Butt!

For those who know Nick you know that he has undergone his fair share of health struggles.  In 2010 Nick collapsed on the basketball court and subsequently in 2012 needed a heart transplant.  Since then everything has been relatively smooth sailing with annual checkups to make sure he heart is functioning as it should and the good news is it is!

Then a few weeks ago Nick started complaining of abdominal pain after eating and during the night.  After much insistence from his wife Rachel he ended up in ER due to his pain.  A CT scan revealed enlarged lymph nodes surrounding his spleen and stomach.  After ruling out any viral cause a biopsy was performed and it revealed Nick had Burkitt Lymphoma.  This lymphoma is very rare, aggressive and requires immediate and intense treatment.  After meeting with oncology and having a PET scan the cancer was found to have spread to his bones and liver. 

Nick went inpatient on Thursday March 11 to start his intense chemo regimen.  Obviously we know Nick is strong, stubborn and a fighter so we know he will pull through this.  In the meantime we want to give Nick and Rachel support by helping with the upcoming medical bills, missed work, meals away from home, hospital parking and everything that goes with the horrible disease that is cancer.
