Mike’s Recovery

This is my dad, Mike who was visiting my sister in Boone this weekend with my family for a football game on Saturday  but never made it. My dad was rushed to the hospital with nausea, dizziness, and passing out early saturday morning. When there, he was diagnosed with Vertigo, not a good diagnosis but a hopeful one. After a day in the hospital full of testing and monitoring, my dad was given an MRI which showed he actually had a stroke which caused the vertigo. This diagnosis hit us by surprise considering he is only 48 and along with this diagnosis came more tests, physical therapy, a longer stay in the hospital (2 hours away from family), as well as transport to an acute rehabilitation facility which he also has to stay at. This also leaves him out of work for an unknown amount of time. Our family is grateful that he is still here with us and want him to have the best possible care he can receive so he can go back to being himself, but there is also a cost to that which we were not prepared for.  Anything can help and would be appreciated more than you know
