Shannon’s Medical Fund

Hi my name is Shannon. This is very hard for me to write my story. I worked for an Oncology (cancer ) facility for 9 years. I loved my job more than life itself. I loved the patients. Each and everyone touched my heart.  I was a collector. Another words I collected off their bills that they had. I had did Collection in the past but this was harder. These people struggled at times just to stay alive. I got the idea to sell cookies and cupcakes at bake sales at other business on my days off.  Together with another lady we raised a lot of money. We where able to buy grocery cards and gas cards to get the patients back and forth to treatment. It was going great. I joined up with two ladies so the baking grew. Businesses started adding in their own baking goods. We made $30,000 in just baked goods over the years. We went from gas cards to clothes for their kids to school supplies. Even bought some portable air conditioning units for patients that did have air conditioning during the summer. Than on May 28th I had a nervous breakdown. I don’t know what caused it because my life was so wonderful! I had a great family and my job.... it touched my heart so strong. I have beeen on a lot of medication. However the medication my doctor has me on is working so well. I found out two weeks ago that it will cost me $198.00 a month. The foundation for the drug turned me down because I have insurance. The copay program turned me down as well. This is way to much for my family to pay. My husband makes $26,000 a year we barely get by each month.  I want to get back to normal so I can work. This drug is getting me back to feeling better. Please help me,!  Shannon
