The Tara Wright Family Fund

Donation protected
Tara Wright has been an RN at SSH for the last 20+ years and is known for her wonderful, positive outlook on nursing. Tara was part of the float team for the first years she worked at SSH, so she has many staff members who know her as a kind and gentle person, who always puts the needs of other ahead of her own. She is now a dedicated, patient centered member of the Emergency Department team, and always supports her fellow team members when needed. Tara is a kind soul, with an unwavering dedication to her patients, their families, and her co-workers. Tara is the kind of person who helps those in need without hesitation. Personally, Tara is attending Molloy College to get her BSN while working full time in the ED, taking care of her three children, and caring for Mother who is ill at present. She is the first person at your door when you need someone and always has a wonderful outlook on life. Unfortunately, Tara and her family sustained great loss on August 13th during the flooding here on our island; her Farmingville house was destroyed by flood waters. Tara, her son and Mother, along with their pets were home that morning when a wave of water, went through their home, destroying the basement and taking down one of the homes bearing walls. The town declared her home “condemned” by that afternoon, and her story made the news on Channel 2. All the contents of her home and basement were destroyed, the house is unlivable. Tara is now struggling with the town and her insurance company and has no idea if her house will ever be able to be occupied again. Tara and her family are now living with other family members, with no clear plan of the future.
