Moving $ and replacement car.

You all may have heard Karen has a new landlord and within days of buying the property the new landlord notified the tenants that their rent would be doubled as of the first of September.  Needless to say, Karen's income will not be doubling by the first of September so moving seems the next logical step.  Karen has lived in the building where she lives now for nearly 24 years so she is a little out of practice in apartment hunting but in beginning the search it quickly became clear that there are few reasonably priced apartments in Seattle so the search quickly expanded into the outlying areas of Edmonds, Lynnwood, and Mountlake Terrace.

 

So, the issue here is Karen's transportation.  Her car is 25 years old and has served her well, but it is now in such condition that Karen does not trust it to leave the flats of Ballard much less make the trek back and forth to Lynnwood.  Its brakes are ready to go, its transmission is shifty, the carburetor is bad, and on top of all that it isn't firing on all cylinders.  Karen needs help to either overhaul her current vehicle or find a newer more reliable vehicle.

 

In addition, Karen needs assistance with moving expenses and first and last month rent and damage deposit.
