Hopes surgery

So this is Hope. I found her sitting in a ditch in the pouring rain back in May. After 15 minutes of trying to convince her that I was trying to help her she did jump into my car. I wrapped her in a towel and took her straight into the bathtub. HUNDREDS of fleas and ticks were on her which already broke my heart. I then took her to my vet for futher examination a few hours later. I had her shots done, and the only concern was her heart murmur. Well that heart murmur is why I am looking for help.  I had no choice but to drive 2 hours away to Charleston Sc to see Dr. Jacobson a cardiologist at Veterinary Specialty Care.  Her diagnosis: patent ductus arteriosus (PDA).  In Hope's case there appears to be already some degree of left heart enlargement. Concern for heart failure or other complications exist. This surgery will fix the overcirculation of blood through the lungs and the left side of heart. 
So until she can have the surgery they have her on medications for cardiorespiratory disease, Enalapril 5mg tablets and Vetmedin 2.5mg tablets.
Either way Hope will remain living with me. And believe me I was not looking to add a FORTH DOG to my home. Everything happens for a reason, and Hope chose me. I will do all I can to give her a complete healthy chance at life.
