We'll take it as it comes, but we'd rather make it go away faster! With Autism and Epilepsy, this kid has weathered life like a hero. His nearly constant headaches are enough to drive a saint to hysterics. Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment shows a LOT of promise for brain and gastrointestinal inflammation, neurological problems, and behavioral improvement. BINGO!!!!! Help me help my son find an easier path, so that heroism is no longer vital to his survival. In response to your generous spirit, I will give updates on our progress, financially and medically. I will add pictures of my son's life, as they relate to his successes and his medical needs: MRI's, blood draws, doctor appointments. It is my hope that people might get a glimpse of our lives and help my son's improve. I have great HOPE that HBOT(Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) will be a wonderful advancement in treatment for my son and he will be able to find an independent life, because of it. Because the American Medical Association has yet to add HBOT to the almost non-existent list of treatments for autism or for epilepsy, our insurance won't be covering the cost of any of it. As a determined mother, I know this treatment is a MUST in my son's treatment plan. The research I've done, so far, all indicates a high level of probability for success. The first round of treatment recommended for people with Autism is 40 treatments of 1.3 ATM with a higher level of oxygen than normal room oxygen. It is a lower level of pressure inside the oxygen chamber than you'd have if you were getting treatment for the bends, so it is considered safe.
