DFCA Restoration from Flood of 2018

Donation protected
The Donegal Fish and Conservation Association is a community group that provides a service to our fishing community.  Each year DFCA puts on a spring show to help raise money to raise fish for our kids fishing derby and to stock Donegal Creek bait section.  On August 31, 2018 ten inches of rain fell upon Mount Joy and devastated our nursery.  The entrance road is washed out and not navigational with a vehicle, our shed with our fish food and supplies was washed to the other side of the pond, which is a 1/4 mile away.  The raceway has been severely compromised and collapsed in several sections.  The majority of our seasonal fish have been washed into the pond, leaving only enough to support the kids fishing derby next spring.

DFCA is requesting donations to help build our nursery back to working conditions.  The purpose of the Association shall be the continuing of the stream improvement projects of the Donegal Creek.  To improve the fish habitat as well as the aquatic life and prevent erosion of the banks and farm lands as a means of preserving our mast valuable resource, water.  To enable this Association to support trout rearing programs and provide our youth an opportunity to learn and respect the act of fishing.  To promote a sense of conservation in Lancaster County.

With your support, we can get back to providing these services to our community and help our youth and fishing community enjoy the benefits of Lancaster County.
