Karie Marchese Wong is a vibrant 31 year old wife and mother to two beautiful little ones. Her life as she knew it was turned upside down on Thursday, August 14, 2014. She had been experiencing pain in her back and hip for more than a month and no doctors could tell her what was wrong, it had gotten to the point that she could barely walk. On August 13, she went to have an x-ray done, which showed nothing so the doctor suggested she go in for an MRI. The following day she underwent 2 MRI's. The MRI's came back and showed what no one had expected. Cancer. Stage 4 cancer. Turns out the cancer began in her breast and had since spread to her hip, spine, and lymph nodes. Her bones were so brittle she almost had to have an immediate hip replacement. In the week since her diagnosis, Karie has begun Radiation treatments which will continue in the weeks to come. She is in pain, but it has not broken her spirit!
    Our entire family has witnessed such an outpouring of love and support for Karie that we are overcome with gratitude. She is a strong, young woman, with so much life ahead of her. Cancer will not defeat her, she will not let it bring her down. She still has the same beautiful smile on her face day in and day out. Karie truly is an inspiring woman and her faith in God gets her through each day. 
   So we ask for prayers .. prayers for strength, prayers for healing, prayers for understanding. She has a long road ahead of her but she will not fight alone, together we all stand with Karie #WongStrong
