Dexter Clement Memorial Fund for the California State Parks

The Dexter Clement Memorial Fund is a partnership with the California State Parks. With a goal to raise $22,800 by Monday, August 20, the funds will be used to complete two projects Dexter was working on at the time of his passing:

1) Scholarships for 78 underprivileged grammar school classes to experience State Parks &"ˆMuseums

2) Renovation of the Eagle Theatre "“ the gateway to Historic Old Sacramento where every school class begins their Parks tour

At a cost of $100 per school class to participate in interactive history lessons, $7,800 will provide scholarships for field trips. $15,000 will be matched with State Parks funds to complete the renovation of the Theatre.

Over the last 10 years, Dexter volunteered more than 9,400 hours of his time to the Parks district. In May of 2012, he was honored with the California Poppy and Golden Eagle awards for inspiring countless school children to explore history in an interactive, fun, and educational environment.
