Dexter's Hospitalization

Many of you have met our wonderful, loving, sociable, handsome young cat, Dexter. He is our constant companion, and one of the brightest lights in our life. Last night, we had to rush Dexter to a veterinary hospital after we noticed him acting very strange. He was unable to pee, and would howl in pain when we touched his belly. He was diagnosed with a urinary tract obstruction, a common, but not well-understood problem in male cats. He needed to have a catheter inserted to relieve the pressure and pain, which also required him to be hospitalized for the night, and now we are looking at at least another. 

Kevin and I are loving cat-parents. We give him everything he needs and he has always had a perfect home in which to thrive. Our hearts are shattered as we write this. His life may not be in immediate danger, but nonetheless, his discomfort is echoed in our own minds. Many of you can attest to his incredibly out-going social nature, and his instant charm he places on all who enter his domain (not to mention...his good looks!) You may also know that Kevin and I are both musicians, working eight jobs (yes. eight.) between us to secure a future for ourselves in a competitive and unpredictable field, as well as provide every comfort for our little man. We have been able to front some of the costs for his hospitalization, but we are nearing the limits of what our finances can take. That being said, we would be most grateful to any and all of you who can provide any monetary assistance, no matter how great or small.
