Our journey with infertility began two years ago. August of 2017 with me beginning my teaching career, we decided to take the leap of starting a family. In June 2017 I had just been given the news that I had developed multiple sclerosis. With the prospect of possible medications, which you cannot be on while pregnant, we decided to begin our journey into parenthood.
After six months with no luck, we both went to the doctor to find a solution and found we were definitely within the battle of infertility. Through about a year and a half of medications, doctor visits, ovulation tests, and a lot of stress, we still were not seeing results. Luckily we had a family member mention embryo adoption and we immediately began our research. This process would allow me to experience pregnancy, be much more cost efficient than IVF or regular adoption, and allow us to raise our child from day one. Soon after our research began, we knew we wanted to adopt an embryo.
With us having considered IVF, we know the dilemma that comes with having extra embryos from the process. One of our reasons for not using IVF was the fact that we would definitely want to use all the embryos due to our religious beliefs. This can be costly as well as add stress on a relationship. When we discovered there was a way to help families with this situation, as well as grow our family, I was immediately on board.
Through your donations, we will be able to offset the costs of the adoption, transfer of the embryo, transport of the embryo, home study, medications, and any other fees along the way. Your donation would help us grow our family and not have the financial burden that comes with adoption. We are looking so forward to parenthood and are so blessed by anyone who feels led to donate to our family.
