Special Needs W&MA Program - Uniforms

Tax deductible
The routines of our Special Needs students are filled with condition centric therapy, clinical appointments and school or work commitments. They are seldom involved in extra curricular activities for their own enjoyment and quality of life improvement. A high percentage of these wonderful Exceptional individuals are “benched” and often isolated while siblings and others continue their life experience.

Budo, translated as 'the martial way', is the spiritual foundation for martial arts; the ethical code on which martial arts are based; the lifelong benefit of practising towards a greater inner strength, self-esteem, self-empowerment, balance, confidence and, ultimately, internal peace.

The Dojo of Exceptional Wellness (DEW)  has the mission to Provide for the Special Needs population of all ages a setting for Wellness, Education and Improvement of their Quality of Life through the many transformative benefits of becoming a practitioner of Martial Arts.

DEW imparts martial arts instruction to the Special Needs Community that can transcend to their daily routines, improving their quality of life. As a nascent nonprofit, we have yet to align any fundraising sources and are looking to our cyber community to create awareness. Today, our students practice, enthusiastically, in their school/street clothes. They do meditation, stretching, karate and other activities within the confines of the improper attire.

Our goal is to promote a peaceful and welcoming environment for personal empowerment, self-expression, self-confidence and inner strength through the instruction of Martial Arts to the Special Needs Community with our Wellness & Martial Arts (W&MA)  Program.

DEW has served in excess of one hundred ten (110)  participants, 100% of whom are on the Autism spectrum,  at its Pilot and first location in Hialeah, FL . In some cases, these courageous young men and women (ages 14-17) face additional exceptional conditions. Due to the documented success and pent up demand, the Pilot W&MA Program will grow to include adults (ages 18+) and a second W&MA Program location will begin operations in the City of Doral, FL in Q1 2019.
