And Now, The Story....

During the same week as the lockdown of Covid 2020, Devon was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. After a double Mastectomy and a total of 5 surgeries over the following year, it entered her into a remission status... or so she thought.

In October of 2021, she rescued a puppy from a kill shelter. That week, he pawed, pounced and laid next to her. She did a breast exam only to find out that there was something unfamiliar. After losing yet another friend to Breast Cancer that month, he consulted docs only to find out her Cancer was hiding and dormant through all the surgeries and quickly turned aggressive. Since then, she has undergone two more surgeries and is currently undergoing Chemo and radiation treatments with the hope of kicking cancer's ass one more time!

Devon has been hands-on over the decades with many foundations concentrating on Breast Cancer awareness, prevention and education. She has helped these foundations raise over half a million dollars through joint efforts, but now she finds herself on the other side.

As many of you may know, Devon's livelihood is extreme sports photography; traveling all over the project may take her. Unfortunately, since this diagnosis, she has been unable to do the job she loves. She lives for anti-gravity; as she says, "it's the moments that seem impossible that make her photos possible."

Being a photographer who has thrived in the marketplace for years now, Devon finds herself unable to do what she loves! While her savings has helped offset expenses, and despite the COVID impacts on her photography business over the past few years, she has managed to keep up, but not without a fight. But now, with this second round of aggressive cancer, the real challenge is ahead of her.

Those who know Devon know that she has always prided herself on making her own way, meeting her own challenges, and succeeding! Asking for help does NOT come naturally or easy, so I haven't given her a choice! :) I know so many of you have been fortunate to cross paths with this amazing human, as she brings so much joy and positive energy wherever she goes that we all just want to find a way to help. We have to all continue to remind her that this is NOT a solo journey and she has an army behind her!

And so, I am asking that you consider donating to her GoFundMe page, shown here. This is not a test of friendship or measure of anything but your capacity to help.

Fortunately - this horrible disease has not taken her energy and spirit, and I know that she will continue to shine bright - but with so many of us that she has touched and made life better, we need to help her. Even just a little bit helps.

Thank you for reading.
