Devin's Fund

Donation protected
Our goal is to raise enough funds to cover the deductibles associated with getting Devin the basics for him to move around! A "special needs" stroller and new AFO's... This is a little about our story (read more at www.devinsmile.com:

On May 25, 2007, 15-month old Devin was diagnosed with Isodicentric 15 Syndrome. Commonly referred to as Idic15 or Dup15q, it is a chromosome abnormality in which a child is born with extra genetic material from chromosome 15. Devin has 47 chromosomes, instead of the normal 46. The extra chromosome is made up of a piece of chromosome 15 that has been duplicated end-to-end like a mirror image.

Devin faces a lifetime of special care and special needs; he will have physical and developmental delays his entire life and is still non-verbal; and because Idic15 in itself is one of the rare chromosome abnormalities (with only approx 1000 known cases worldwide) our future is still quite uncertain.

Devin has pretty much outgrown his "regular" stroller and is in need of a special needs stroller as due to his low muscle tone he tires easily and is unable to walk lengths at any given time. His AFO's (orthopedic inserts to stabilize walking) also need to be replaced due to his feet growing.

Our goal is to fund raise for these 2 devices... these two although partially covered by our insurance are quite expensive... our deductible is over $2000 to be able to provide just the basic for Devin.

As always, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.
