Devin Webb was a fun, bright, and young 22 year old who loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the University of Louisville Cardinals. Webb, nicknamed “Webbie” by his friends and family, passed away suddenly in February 2018 from an undiagnosed heart condition.
“He went to bed and just, basically, didn’t wake up.” Devin’s sister, Bailey, said. Devin’s family and friends were left reeling; in the wake of the sudden loss, they struggled with the emotional, physical, and financial burdens felt by the loss of Devin, just like thousands of other families across the U.S. every day that are impacted by the loss of a loved one.
We learned about Devin, his story, and the impact his family felt after his passing when the CEO of Dippin' Dots, Scott Fischer, went undercover on the hit CBS show Undercover Boss.
After working with Bailey, and learning her story, the Devin Webb Foundation was established.
“Her perseverance for her own goals in her life is inspiring which is why we decided to start the foundation in honor of her late brother,” said Dippin’ Dots & Doc Popcorn CEO Scott Fischer.
The foundation helps families dealing with caring for loved ones with heart conditions and ailments by providing resources and support to alleviate the burdens those families face on a day-to-day basis. Funds raised for the Devin Webb Foundation are used to assist families, just like Devin’s, struggling to navigate medical care and loss of a loved one.
