accessible info and navigation for the blind

Welcome to Reference Point Navigation!
Reference Point Navigation is the next step to accessible navigation and information from the palm of your hand using every day mobile devices!
My name is Zack and I started a student driven development team here at Evergreen State College in September to design and develop Reference Point Navigation. #RPN Finding a braille sign is time consuming and in some areas impractical especially if you’re short on time and patients. Relative to today’s technology the Americans with disabilities act is obsolete when it was implemented in 1990 no one thought about phones being used as information hubs.
Following the ADA is expensive and can put hardships on campuses so they squeak by with the bare minimum for compliance. When we who are blind are dependent on accessible tools that aren’t being maintained or improved we lose our independence!
I see it as the next step in proving what can be accomplished in assistive navigation along with the availability of information accessed by those with sight impairment.
in five years I hope to be nation wide with reliable detail oriented navigation from the palm of your hand.
