WHO ARE WE?
We are eight emerging photographers who have teamed up to mount a week-long exhibit of our photographs at the legendary Soho Photo Gallery, September 1 - 7, 2019; and infusing it with creative community spirit by producing a full schedule of insightful and fun lectures and educational events, ALL offered FREE to the public.
In addition to our photography, each of us comes to this project with our own areas of professional expertise to bring this Gallery Exhibit and Photo Week to life.

WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT THIS PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT?
We are eight different photographers with eight completely different styles. What we have in common is a love for photography and a mission to spread the love of the medium. What makes this unique is that, in addition to exhibiting our photographs, the gallery will be a hub of free education and networking activity for photographers and photo hobbyists.
WHERE IS IT?
We chose as our space Soho Photo Gallery , the legendary non-profit co-op gallery in Tribeca. Soho Photo Gallery is classic New York City; it has the feel of pre-gentrified NYC, while still being wholly contemporary and relevant. It is the perfect setting for our show, and we are thrilled that Soho Photo Gallery is allowing us to rent the entire gallery for the week for our exhibit and program.
WHAT IS OUR PHILOSOPHY IN CREATING THIS EXHIBIT AND WEEK OF EVENTS?
Yes, we are trying to market our photography, and the photographs we have on exhibit will be for sale - but we don’t want this to be entirely about us. We want this photography exhibit to give back to both the photography community and the larger community in general. That is why we have put together a roster of classes that will be offered completely FREE of charge.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
The funds we raise here will cover the costs of the gallery rental, speaker fees, insurance, advertising, signage, etc. - everything we need to offer this special week to the public for FREE and run it successfully.

Develop: The Photo Week NEEDS YOU!
This is an ambitious project, but as the saying goes, 'no guts, no glory!’ We know we’ve got the skills to produce Develop: The Photo Week, we just need some funding to keep it all free to the public.
The goal is always to help people change and improve their lives through the joys of creativity. It is this that gives DEVELOP: The Photo Week a larger purpose. With the help of our roster of speakers, and those of you supporting this project, photographers of all levels will have the opportunity to attend our free events and leave with updated technical skills and newfound inspiration and direction.

-Top portrait photographer Charles Chessler is offering a one-person OR two-person portrait session for a pledge to support our GoFundMe campaign. A pledge of $350 will get you a one-person session, or, a pledge of $500 will get you a two-person session (great for an engagement shot!) Limit: We are offering just one session with Charles, and it goes to the first person to make their pledge. Deadline to pledge is Friday, Sept 6.
