Saving Nadia

Nadia’s life hangs on a thread and we need your urgent and generous help to save her.
Our dearly loved Nadia has been in a coma for about eight weeks. She’s suffering from an aggressive neurological condition termed “super refractory status epilepticus”, likely due to encephalitis, meaning she is in a state of continuous convulsion that can only be checked by keeping her in induced coma. Doctors are still struggling to pin point the cause of her affliction.
After five weeks in intensive care and no sign of improvement, as advised by the hospital her family decided to move her to Europe. She is now receiving treatment by the world-class team of neuroscientists at the International Neuroscience Institute in Hannover, Germany. While her case is difficult, recovery is still possible, but will require long treatment and rehabilitation, and probably surgery.
The family is bearing the full burden of the treatment, since her health insurance will not cover her outside the region, and no other insurance company is willing to help now. Medical expenses are substantial and will almost certainly exceed her family’s means. It’s expected she will need to continue in intensive care beyond one month (approximately 3,000 euro a day), and that surgery will be required (indicatively 100,000 euro or more), followed by many months of rehabilitation.
We are reaching out to you, so that the many of you who so dearly care about Nadia and have expressed the wish to help can do so concretely. If you are unable to contribute, please pray for her and share this appeal with anyone you believe may be willing to do so.
We extend our warmest appreciation to everyone for the overwhelming love shown for Nadia and her family so far. Your messages of support, your prayers, blood donations and everything else you have done, have been a tremendous help.
We just want to see her reopen her beautiful eyes and return to her daughter, her family and friends. We miss her so much and can’t wait to have her back.
All monies contributed will be used exclusively for the purpose of paying for Nadia’s medical expenses and transfer to another medical facility if required. Unspent funds will be returned. The campaign organizer is Nadia's brother, he will withdraw the funds you have so generously contributed into his own account, from which he will in turn pay the health care facilities treating Nadia.
