Deus Caritas Est - Solar Panel Project

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus:

Receive a brotherly greeting of Peace and Good in the Lord Jesus. The ministry of Deus Caritas Est would like to cordially and respectfully present to you a new project that we have embraced in union with the Conventual Friars of Corozal, Colombia. These brothers have undertaken a very beautiful and important job in which they are trying to install solar panels in the soup kitchen and convent which they attend. This is due to the numerous times that they have been deprived of the possibility of assisting a large number of people, including children, youth and the elderly who receive food in this convent.

And what has happened?

Due to the great rise in prices of public services, the inflation in the prices of daily consumption supplies, the shortage of donors and benefactors who can help them, and the increase in the number of people who receive assistance here, these friars have been struggling in their mission in these areas. Another big problem that not only the friars face, but also many of the inhabitants of the coastal regions, is the number of times a day that they experience power outages, which cause the food to spoil by not being kept well refrigerated and in good conditions.

With the installation of these solar panels, the friars could solve part of the problems they face daily. These panels would help them keep the food they collect to support the people who attend the soup kitchen in better condition, as well as keep the food fresh that they donate to a number of other families living in these inhospitable areas.
