Destinee's PsuedoTumor Surgery

Many of you already know my sister, Destinee, but a lot of you do not know her story. Destinee was diagnosed with Psuedotumor Cerebri, which is an enlargement that resembles a tumor; it may result from inflammation, and accumulation of fluid. This accumulation of fluid can cause blurry vision (in worst case scenarios caused blindness), and severe migraines.  A migraine to the point where she lays in complete darkness and does not get out of the bed, for days. Once these migraines get so bad, this is when we go in for Destinee to get a spinal tap. Destinee has had anywhere from 6-9 spinal taps since being diagnosed. If you are not familiar with a spinal tap, its when they go into your spine with a large needle to drain the accumulation of fluid, which then releases the built up pressure causing the migraines.  Destinee has been dealing with Pseudoturmor for 6 years now, we have had to go through many trial and errors, to the point where she was taking 14 pills a day to try to monitor the fluid accumulation. However, all the solutions we tried were only temporary fixes. A few weeks ago, we were finally blessed with a solution to fix this disorder.  That is when we met Dr. Cortsen, with the Nueromedical Center who introduced us to the idea of the PV Shunt. The shunt will go from her brain, over her collar bone, and unto her stomach allowing the fluid to drain itself. He was convinced that after many failed attempts that this was the solution we had been waiting for. Destinee's surgery was scheduled on August 21st, but due to the pressure building back up after yet another spinal tap, Dr. Cortsen pushed up the surgery. Destinee's new surgery date is for the 11th, that's right, this Friday. This surgery will put Destinee out of work anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on her recovery, and praying that her surgery goes smoothly.

Throughout this process, Destinee has accumulated a lot of medical bills from countless spinal taps, MRI's, CAT Scans, seeing neurosurgeons, and ophthalmologist. The money we are trying to raise for Destinee will go to past bills that have come with this disease, as well as surgery.  And maybe even help out with her everyday bills with being out of work.

If you cannot help with a donation, please help with prayers. We know that God only gives his toughest battles to his strongest warriors, thanks for your time!
