Desiree's Mission Trip to Uganda

For the past couple of years God has put it heavy on my heart to go on a mission trip, but I always let fear get in the way.  After lots of praying and a touching encounter with the Sozo Children's Choir, I have decided that I have to grasp this opportunity God has placed in front of me.  

This Bible verse has and will continue to encourage me along this journey, "Do not pass by a man in need. For you may be the hand of God to him." - Proverbs 3:27 

I will be traveling to Uganda in December of this year and will have the opportunity to serve within Sozo's childrens homes and a local village community. They have recently purchased 28 acres of land that will soon be called home to many families. This trip will not be possible without your help. For those of you who don't know me personally, I am currently a Grad Student and full-time Intern , so therefore I do not have a paying job. All funds raised will go towards: Sozo trip fees including travel and food, vaccines, passport, and antimalarial medication. 

Sozo Children exists to glorify God through saving children in need, building community, and connecting individuals to experience the love of Jesus. "Sozo" is a Greek word found in the New Testament which means " to save".  Sozo's visions is to provide physicals needs for children who have been neglected or orphaned while at the same time connecting them to Christ. Sozo Children was born in 2010 out of an immediate need to take in seventeen children from suffering circumstances like neglect and hunger.  When it was discovered that rats were biting these children's feet at night,they knew something had to be changed. Sozo has grown and currently operates multiple children's homes that provide care for 120 amazing children of all ages. 
There are 10.6 million children at risk in Uganda and over half of the population is under the age of 15. These children's lives are invaluable in the eyes of Christ. 

Your support would mean the world to me! Even though my trip is taking place in December I must start fundraising ASAP. Please help me seize this opportunity in demonstrating the love of Christ to these amazing children and families.
