Designing Dream Dresses for girls who are less fortunate.
The Designer Kids Program has a new initiative which allows youth to give back to the community. The project is called: "Design the Dress of her Dreams." The program was created to allow under privileged girls the chance to wear dresses they have only dreamed of! When attending special events such as school dances or prom, these girls can now feel as beautiful and confident as their peers.
Keep in mind there are many programs that donate previously worn dresses, which is also a great alternative. However, Design the Dress of her Dreams gives a girl a one of a kind dress. A dress designed by one of our talented designers in The Designer Kids Program. Imagine being able to walk in to a room with the confidence that no one else has on a dress like yours! No one else has had the opportunity to meet with a designer or be specially fit into a garment. Imagine the awesome memories this will create!
The Designer Kids Program is reaching out to young women in grades 8 – 12 in the Jacksonville and surrounding areas. We are especially extending the invitation to girls in foster care & low-income families. Interested candidates should submit an essay explaining: Why they deserve the dress of their dreams and what this opportunity will do for them.
We are looking to raise $700 to help cover the expense of fabrics, supplies and more. Our goal is raise the funds by December 15, 2019. Sponsors are needed to help make this possible. Donations received will help make dreams come true and will impact the lives of girls that are less fortunate and in need of this opportunity. Please join us in making this possible.
