On Sunday, August 19, 2018, Eric was involved in an accident, struck his head on pavement and was rushed to the ER. While in the ICU, he was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury (multiple hematomas, subarachnoid hemorrhages, multiple basal skull fractures on both sphenoid bones, clivus, and involving right jugular foramen).
This smart, funny, video-loving 15 year old was to have started his sophomore year of high school on August 21 at Morgantown High School in Morgantown, WV. He runs track and is on the cross country team.
2018 has been a particularly difficult year for the Deshlers health-wise, as well as financially. Another member has suffered herniated discs, a serious bone infection and a benign brain tumor. While they have medical insurance, it only covers a small percentage of the expenses.
This hard-working, loving family of 7 is in need of some assistance. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. This fund was started by Eric's aunt, uncle & grandparents and all money will be given to his parents to pay his medical bills.
