Deserving Student-Athlete in Need

Story

I am raising money for a former student of mine at NHTI.  His name is James Wilson and he is currently a full-time student and soccer player for the Lynx.  James does not have a permanent residence in NH, nor does he have car to travel to work or school.  He depends on friends to help him, as he has no family that are able to help him.In the past 15 months, James has battled being homeless at times and long periods without food.  Through this all, he is now living on campus (when the dorms are open) and has a meal plan.  He also has some work study support.  Unfortunately, this is not enough money for him to live in times when the dorms and cafe are closed.James works hard, completes his school work and wants desperately to have a job that will help support his everyday needs.  In order for him to stay employed, James needs transportation and insurance.  These are things that many of us take for granted as we drive to work each morning.I am raising this money to secure a reliable vehicle, purchase a year's insurance and pay to register and inspect the vehicle.  The vehicle I have access to is rust free and has a new transmission and brakes/tires.  It is a well maintained vehicle and will suit James' needs.  It comes from a family I am close with and has agreed to knock the price down in support of James.I do not want to hand a vehicle over to him unless it is insured, so I would like to purchase a year's worth of car insurance (liability).  I also would like to inspect and register the vehicle in his name.James was born in the Ivory Coast.  He moved to PA and then NH, with his mother struggling to get by herself.  Unfortunately, James lost his father when he was younger.  His mother still lives in PA and wishes she could help him more, but has health issues that prevent this from happening.  A vehicle and a job would also give James the ability to visit his mother more often.I have been helping James for over a year now.    Through the graciousness of my family and friends, I have bought James food.  I have given him rides to work in the times that the dorms are closed and he has a shift on campus.  He is grateful, respectful and trustworthy.   The support of a vehicle would allow him to depend less on others, increase his ability to earn his own money and give him the ability to begin giving back. James would like to get involved in coaching youth soccer and the vehicle will give him the ability to be a reliable coach, mentor and role model.  Coupled with a Sport Management Degree that he hopes to obtain in the coming year from NHTI, James will be a true asset to the community in which we live. Please consider donating to help James.  It will surely change one young man's life dramatically.  I am hoping to raise the money in 2 weeks.  This will allow for me take care of the loose ends and get James on the road to a great 2019.

I am raising money for a former student of mine at NHTI.  His name is James Wilson and he is currently a full-time student and soccer player for the Lynx.  James does not have a permanent residence in NH, nor does he have car to travel to work or school.  He depends on friends to help him, as he has no family that are able to help him.

In the past 15 months, James has battled being homeless at times and long periods without food.  Through this all, he is now living on campus (when the dorms are open) and has a meal plan.  He also has some work study support.  Unfortunately, this is not enough money for him to live in times when the dorms and cafe are closed.

James works hard, completes his school work and wants desperately to have a job that will help support his everyday needs.  In order for him to stay employed, James needs transportation and insurance.  These are things that many of us take for granted as we drive to work each morning.

I am raising this money to secure a reliable vehicle, purchase a year's insurance and pay to register and inspect the vehicle.  The vehicle I have access to is rust free and has a new transmission and brakes/tires.  It is a well maintained vehicle and will suit James' needs.  It comes from a family I am close with and has agreed to knock the price down in support of James.

I do not want to hand a vehicle over to him unless it is insured, so I would like to purchase a year's worth of car insurance (liability).  I also would like to inspect and register the vehicle in his name.

James was born in the Ivory Coast.  He moved to PA and then NH, with his mother struggling to get by herself.  Unfortunately, James lost his father when he was younger.  His mother still lives in PA and wishes she could help him more, but has health issues that prevent this from happening.  A vehicle and a job would also give James the ability to visit his mother more often.

I have been helping James for over a year now.
