Deryl Dale is a singer songwriter in Bloomington, Indiana. He has a sizeable amount of songs from the early 90's that have never been published. Some of these songs are just Deryl and his guitar on the front porch. They are raw, yet strong performances that showcase the depth of Deryl's musical storytelling.
Other songs from this extremely productive time in Deryl's musical career have been embellished with newly recorded instrumental arrangements, and some of these songs have even been completely re-recorded by a musical team that share Deryl's vision.
This CD project, "Growing up, and other difficulties" fulfills Deryl's dream, to bring these songs into the light, to get them out to the public to be enjoyed. Deryl is currently not able to bring these songs to the public, as he has been struggling with the debilitating effects of Parkinson's for the past 7 years.
The money raised in this campaign will pay for recording, mixing and mastering a treasure of musical work, as well as pay for musicians, artwork, design and CD production costs.
This will be a 4 week campaign, with weekly updates on Facebook.
The rewards for contributing to Deryl's dream are mostly musical, drawing from this prolific amount of newly discovered recordings. Another way Deryl would like to show his great appreciation for your contribution is a booklet with stories, photos, insights and background on many of these soon to be released songs. There is also a mini-documentary in the works, as well as a chance to go out to dinner with Deryl.
Deryl is extremely grateful for this chance to share his music, especially now, at a time in his life when he thought it was no longer possible to do so.
This project is about hope, about sharing beautiful music. It's about carrying on despite our daily struggles, and not giving up.
