DeRuischer Medical Bills

Donation protected
Dear friends,

I feel silly and almost ashamed bringing this before you.  But it is something that I’ve contemplated for a little while now an I’ve decided perhaps it’s time I humble myself, post our need, and see what God chooses to do with it.

Many of you know the events of our life in the past year (including a lack of full-time employment August through June).  Most of you know the journey I’ve been on over the last four years with my health.  Both of these seasons have produced financial difficulties and nearly 8K in medical bills.  While the Lord has been faithful in preserving us, we now find those medical bills in collections and ourselves struggling to regain financial footing.

You all have been such a blessing to us already that this feels wrong, this is asking too much.  I have no expectations here.  God has gifted us, undeservingly, with family and friends who have surrounded us with love and prayer and meals and so much more.  Regardless of what you choose to do with this I ask that you continue your prayers.  They have helped buoy us through these stormy seasons of life and the Lord has used them as a source of encouragement and grace.

If you do not know what all I am speaking of here please feel free to message me.  This is not meant to be annoyingly cryptic but pieces of this are not just my story and I’ve been asked not to publicly share those pieces.  Whether you choose to message me or not, whether you choose to give or not, rejoice with us that despite walking through many valleys in the last few years our testimony is that our Lord is a promise-keeper, a deliverer, an ever-present help in time of need.  Life has undergone big changes in the last four years and we have, again and again, been amazed by His faithfulness and the intricacies of His plans.  I know many of our loved ones are also walking through their own hard seasons right now and I pray our testimony may be of encouragement.  We are far from perfect and the plans are still continuing to unfold, but our God is good and the inheritance we have in Him is priceless.

In faith and humility,
Lauren and Eric
