Derek has been on dialysis since 2018.
He was/is stage 5 kidney failure.
Both kidneys are dead & did/does dialysis 3 times a week.
He is only 37 years old.
We finally got a call today on July 1 2024 that he is getting a kidney!!!!!
We are so so so hopeful that this kidney will stick and last!!!
But with getting a new kidney comes the medical bills, the commute back and forth to the hospital (2 times a week for the first couple months, then 1 time a week and so on - 45/50 mins away). The medicine for afterwards - insurance will cover some not but 100% and 1 of the pills he’ll have to take is $500. Plus he will be out of work for a few months and won’t have that income anymore.
Any amount will help my brother Derek financially get through this exciting time!! Please help out anyway you can. Even if it’s sharing his story for someone else to help!
