At a cost of about $500, one patient receives comprehensive care for a year. Our goal of $10,000 will treat 20 new patients in 2019! Our Mission:
Founded in 1999, Rhode Island Free Clinic’s mission is to provide free, comprehensive medical care and preventive health services to adults who have no health insurance and cannot afford those services; and to serve as an educational training site for aspiring health care professionals.
The Clinic mobilizes vital health resources for Rhode Island’s uninsured, working poor and low-income adults. The Clinic also provides the most efficient and cost effective alternative to emergency rooms for uninsured residents seeking comprehensive health care.
Who are we and what do we do?
The Clinic is… legions of volunteers, community partners, and supporters throughout Rhode Island who share our belief that health care should be available for all, regardless of income.
The Clinic provided over 8,000 patient visits in 2018 to nearly 2,400 patients with the help of our dynamic statewide corps of over 700 volunteers and community partners, a lean professional staff of 9 full-time equivalents, and 9 AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers. With an annual budget of just $1.3 million, the Clinic leveraged over $5 million in additional donated services and medical supplies to provide vital medical care to Rhode Island’s uninsured, low-income adults and hands-on training opportunities to healthcare trainees.
BUDGET
Our $1.3 million budget is 100% raised through charitable donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

· We have seven fulltime paid staff
