Derailed: A New Musical

Dear Respected Friends, Colleagues, Creatives and Fellow Passion Project Pursuers,
OVERVIEW:
Our show is called "Derailed" and came about during creative sessions where characters were born, but had no home. We had characters with stories begging to be shared. Stories from all facets, representing our divided nation that were ripe to be told. We've put our beloved characters in a beautiful show about tragedy, love, hate, passion and what happens when crisis pushes these people together. An exploration of humanity at it's most raw state, when your survival is on the line.
OUR HISTORY:
After countless skype sessions, google docs, and in-person meetings DERAILED was born. Since the birth of the show we had our first reading in Nashville (in March), a second reading in New York (in June) and we are now ready to present the show in a 29-Hour Reading!
WHO WE ARE:
Justin Halpin and Jeffrey James (Music and Lyrics) are established singer/songwriters based in Nashville, TN. While writing independently and with Sony/ATV Music Publishing, the two have had numerous songs cut by artists and DJ’s in Europe, Australia and the US. The pair are responsible for writing or collaborating on songs featured in 150+ film, television and trailer placements on outlets including Showtime, HBO, Netflix, Hulu, cable and all major television networks.
-John Moauro (Book Writer) received his BFA in Musical Theatre from Kent State University. As an actor he has been seen in the Broadway, West End and 1st National Tour companies, of the Tony Award winning revival, of HAIR. This production credits him as the Dance Captain and he was nominated for a BroadwayWorld.com-best featured actor award. His television credits include: David Letterman, The Macy's Day Parade, The View, The Tony Awards, The Late Show with Connan O'Brien, and Good Morning America. @johnmoauro
-Alana Rader (Book Writer) is a Brooklyn-based actor/writer/director who is passionate about telling stories and spreading light. Past credits include: Oliver! (Nancy), Uncle Vanya (Sonya), and Midsummer (Helena). She is a company member with New Circle Theatre, PWF and serves as Co-Artistic Director of Education for the Colonial Theatre of R.I. -Griffin Parsons (Book Writer) received his BFA in musical theatre from Kent State University. He worked regionally at the Hangar Theatre, Porthouse Theatre, and a National tour of A Christmas Carol amongst many others. Now working professionally in the marketing and branding world, his business sense combined with his creative nature lends its self well to the curation and creation of Derailed with his amazing creative team.
WHAT DO WE NEED:
Funds to produce a 29-hour reading in October, 2019. This is a professional reading and requires a bigger level of investment to pay our Actors, Creative Team (director), Printed Materials, Rehearsal Space, Rehearsal Pianist, Performance Venue, Musicians, Marketing Materials, Mic and Sound Rental.
