As many might know Shelley was diagnosed in 2010 with MPGN, which is a rare uncurable autoimmune disease. MPGN attacks your kidneys.
In June of 2015, Shelley went into kidney failure and was put on dialysis . For two years she fought this disease and endured the grueling effects of dialysis, the many medications and all the other health complications that came her way.
In March of 2017 her brother Joey gave her the greatest gift of all, his kidney! He was a perfect match!! But sadly MPGN is now attacking the new kidney! The kidney that Joey gave her has already dropped to 21% functioning. If it drops to 15%, she will be in kidney failure once again and back on dialysis. The hope is for that not to happen.
Her doctors have tried many treatments without success and have told her they are out of options.
Now Shelley and her family are forced to travel to the world famous Mayo Clinic in Minnesota to hopefully find the answers and treatment that can put an end to this nasty disease!!
We are hoping to raise money to relieve the stress and burden of their many medical expenses, not covered by insurance, and the large expenses of traveling back and forth to Minnesota for treatment.
