As many of you know, on the morning of January 20, THE DOGS ATE MY TEETH. And while this is funny(you are allowed to laugh), it is also a major financial issue. The cost for my upper arch denture from the manufacturer is approximately $1900. That is solely for the denture itself, and does not include the price of the multiple visits to my dentist required to cast/shape the mold sent for crafting my personal prosthetic.

Additionally, being without the denture for a prolonged period of time has been, frankly, a pretty miserable experience. Beyond the daily ego-death-by-a-thousand-cuts of seeing a toothless old man in my mirror, it greatly impacts my ability to eat and to speak, as well as my overall health, leading to sore spots along my gums and cheek interiors, an occasional locking of my lower jaw after particularly long days, and major hydration issues.

As it stands, the timeline is to have my replacement by 2/17. Four weeks is a very reasonable amount of time for the miracles of modern science to craft an individual-specific set of teeth whose quality our fore-bearers could hardly have imagined. However, those weeks have felt like months as I have navigated them, and this timeline is not an experience I hope to repeat.

My goal is to raise funds for the purchase of two dentures, one to use as my daily prothestic, and the other as a back-up, to avoid extended time-without-teeth in case of future emergency.
