We recently fostered a local Community Cat, Flynn Rider, during his recovery from a full dental and search for a new forever place. Our dear Flynn was fractious indeed, so having the proper equipment available to us made Flynn's recovery possible. He was less stressed, and we didn't get bit or scratched while caring for him! While our local shelters have equipment we want to help them step it up by providing cat dens that latch shut for transport and allow caretakers to safely clean and care for Community Cats in the shelter.
With the money will will purchase at least 30 Neighborhood Cats Dens made by Tomahwak Live Trap giving them to the local New York City shelter to help them care for Community Cats. The dens can be used for nursing mothers with young kittens, injured Community Cats who need a safe place to rest, and shy fearful cats who need their own space away from it all. The dens also help protect the people who feed and clean the cats on a daily basis including veterinarians!
Our goal date is July 1st, 2019. We would like to get these dens to the shelter as soon as possible as kitten season is coming and once that is in full swing the shelter will have a higher population and it will be even more important to keep cats feeling safe and secure.
Community Cats are so important to us and we want to do everything we can to help make their lives a little better. They help build communities around them and have changed our lives in so many ways from the people we have met caring for them, the to the things we have learned in an effort to help them. They force us to grow as humans on a daily basis and we can't imagine life without them. Help us help Community Cats in New York City!
Any amount you can give to help us reach our goal we would be so grateful.
