Dennis & Marilyn Need Our Support

On October 9 at 1:30 am my parents fled their home with only the clothes on their back and their two cats.  Their Larkfield home of 42 years was completely destroyed by the devastating Santa Rosa fires.  They had no time to gather anything.  They have lost everything. 

People say that things are just things and that the important thing is that they are safe.  This is true but once the dust settles, it is the things that hurt the most.  They think about each room of the house and then cry that such and such was in there and now is gone.  This is the life they built for the 53 years of their marriage, their 42 years in that house, and the cummulative individual lives of 75 years of living.  These things do matter.

I was not going to create a gofundme page for them becasue there are so many needy people out there.  But my parents need us.  I realzied that yesterday when a kind friend bought my mom an electric toothbrush like the one she lost and my mom cried.  She cried about a toothbrush.  They need the support of their community.  Nothing will bring back their things but basics such as cat food and a new cat bed for their cats, or boots for my dad, or make-up for my mom.  Anything that can help them create some sense of normalcy would be helpful.
