Dennis Cipressi Memorial Fund

This is the official GoFundMe for Theresa Cipressi, as she transitions to life without her loving Husband, Dennis Cipressi.

2020 has been an absolutely horrendous year for everyone.

For those of us that have been exposed to Covid-19, it's not fun. It's not fun when you have it. It's not fun when those you love have it. It's not fun being isolated and alone. It's not fun feeling like there is nothing you can do. And it's downright heartbreaking when someone we care about loses their life to it.

Recently, my family experienced an unexpected loss.

For those of you that know my mother, Theresa Cipressi is never a survivor - she's a warrior that takes on all challenges head on. She gives to everyone she knows and is never satisfied with "enough." There is always more fuel in the tank for more.

On Christmas Day, she was dealt the heaviest blow anyone can muster without being broken down - the loss of her Husband, Dennis Cipressi. Both she and Dennis contracted Covid-19, both were in the hospital and received treatment. But it was her life-partner that couldn't win the fight.

Not only would this loss truly be a shock without the complexites of the pandemic, which forces us to grieve apart, and contend with the isolation of leaving our loved ones alone, gasping for breath. We must also cope with the repeated hits most families have endured this year. Job loss, loneliness and fear.

For my mom, Covid has taken her husband and her work from her. A self-made entrepreneur and home designer by trade, early this year, she took up the cause of making masks to donate to locals in her town, working tirelessly to keep her business afloat during a difficult time.

Dennis was on his way to earning his retirement and slowing down from his hardworking daily grind as a realtor and home renovator. He was looking forward to fixing up old cars in his spare time.

In better times, we would all be gathering around her to provide support and love through this difficult time. In better times, she would feel our love and we would be there for her through everything. In better times, we wouldn't feel so... useless.

But even in this challenging time, I ask that you all remain safe. Do not endanger loved ones for the sake of what we used to do traditionally - I am pleading that you save other people's lives by being physically distant. Do for others what you wish they would do for you - protect you and ensure your health as we move to the new year.

If you, like so many others, are struggling financially, we ask only for your prayers and kind thoughts.

Thank you. Stay safe.
