A life long dream.

Biography
The Everest dream started in 2003, on a trip to Scotland’s Ben Nevis, Denis quickly discovered with a bit of harder training & focus Ben Nevis summit came quite easily, a year later with some extra preparation, planning focus and dedication he discovered Kilimanjaro
came quite easily too.
Then came the harder challenges like Eiger – Europe’s highest mountain Elbrus, Matterhorn & Aconcagua all studied meticulously and well prepared for. All aspects of the climb from technical issues like ice climbing to simply surviving -35C blasts were worked on and successful summits followed.
Ama Dablam 6856m Denis’s hardest climb was a totally different mountain. Graded much harder to climb than Everest from a technical and strenuous view Denis set to the job – trained specifically for vertical rock, ice exposure & left home in October 2016. Having accepted team leader position Denis led a gallant team of 6 to Ama Dablam base camp, having successfully summited Narugum 5080m & Labouche East which is six times the height of Carrauntoohill. He set about the climb of Ama Dablam & once again the long hours training at home paid off. Summit day was 20 hours from high camp to the top and back – a feat he completed on his own – being the only one from the six person group to do so.

The Everest Expedition in the Himalayas is one of the world’s greatest physical and mental
challenges that a human being can dare to partake.

Denis’s Everest dream started in 2003 & below is

climbed by 40 different people from Ireland (30 ROI, 10 NI).
