South Africa Mission Trip

Hi! My name is Denise and I am soon-to-be a graduate of Montclair State University with a certificate in teaching and a degree in Mathematics.
I'm very invested in my Catholic faith and I have always had a heart for service. For this reason, I started to look for short-term service opportunities that I could take advantage of during the summer, before starting my career as a teacher. I found Catholic Volunteers Africa, and I was immediately drawn in by the various projects and initiatives they have organized in the Province of Limpopo, about 4 hours north of Johannesburg.
Limpopo is a beautiful province, rich in nature and wildlife. However, Limpopo also has the highest level of poverty among all provinces in South Africa. Catholic Volunteers Africa gives volunteers the opportunity to make a difference in this community by building homes and churches, developing vegetable gardens, coaching young school children in various sports, and supporting them in their education by teaching them language and mathematics (perfect for me!).
I feel that I am meant to go on this trip. God has given me this gift of courage to go, despite all of my fears and doubts, and serve. I am confident that He has called me to spread His love through the work of this mission.
With all of this said, I will need plenty of support to go forth and do God's work by serving the community in Limpopo, South Africa! The Catholic mission is even more beautiful when many people - not just one - are involved and commited to the work being done... and that's the difference you can make! If you would like to help contribute to this mission, I am asking for donations to help offset the cost of registration fees and plane fare. Any amount is greatly appreciated, no donation is too small! And above all, I am asking for your prayers for my safety, the safety of all volunteers on this trip, and the accomplishment of this mission to help the people of South Africa who so greatly need our help.
