This campaign is on behalf of my beautiful mother Denise Banks.
After being diagnosed with stage 2 aggressive breast cancer in February 2020, Bergen County social worker Denise Banks, 52, followed the advice of her doctor and underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and a mastectomy for the following 6 months. However, after the procedures and treatments, Banks was told she was in remission, even though she continued to experience and complain about other symptoms. Despite requesting follow-up examination for months, her doctor dismissed her requests and prescribed anti-depressants for her "depression."
In January 2021, Banks went to the ER after losing feeling in the right side of her body and collapsing days after visiting her oncologist office.
After being examined by a new doctor, Banks was informed that the mastectomy did not remove the cancer and that she was now in stage 4 advanced with metastasized tumors to the brain, lungs, bones, and spine . The new doctor also raised concerns about Banks’ previous care, citing outstanding tests, and stating that mastectomy was not the correct treatment. The anguish has been especially horrific for Banks, a beloved, longtime-social worker in Passaic County, and a loving mother of 2. Banks, mission is to aid other children and families trauma and challenges.
Now in her 3rd round of Chemo and Radiation, we have no doubt that this warrior woman will get the healing she needs. As we all know, the bills for cancer and its treatment are astronomical. With a little help, you will be able to aid with medical costs, ongoing tests, Ubers to and from treatment, and holistic options not covered by insurance.
We now turn to our gracious and caring community to help us raise the funds to continue to fight this battle. We thank you all in advance and ask that you keep Denise and her family in your prayers.
