Background
Hello everyone! About one month ago, a dear friend, Denise O'Rourke was in an auto accident. Little did we know this auto accident was going to save Denise's life. The hospitalization following the accident revealed to physicians a Oligodendroglioma with 1P19Q. This means, an aggressive cancerous tumor that is receptive to chemotherapy and radiation.
To fully remove the tumor, Denise is scheduled for a 6-8 hour brain surgery on Oct 30, but may get moved up to Oct 23rd if the surgeon has the availability. Following she will have a one month stay in the hospital for rehabilitation/therapy. It will be an extremely challenging 6 months following the surgery.
Those of you who know Denise are aware that she is a single mother of two amazing kids. She has for years, so kind heartedly taken care of neighbors, our children as a childcare provider, her elderly father and other family members.
How you can Help
If you are in a position to help Denise financially, in this time of need, please do as it is undetermined how long she will be out of work. This will help with everyday financial obligations, taking care of herself, and her children.
If you are not in a position to financially assist at the moment, your continued thoughts, prayers and support are much appreciated. There will be other fund raisers going on in the near future to assist, as well as food trains for her father and children while Denise is in the hospital.
