MS Sufferer - Treatment and life modifications

Denise Brady, 41 years old, has had MS for a few years now. She worked passionately as a Head Chef, is a loving mother and wife with three sons and a husband who works around the clock to provide for his family. Due to her MS, Denise has had to leave work. This means her family of 5 are living on one income.

Recently she received the devastating news that she has moved to Secondary Progressive stage with her illness. This means she will never recover and will steadily get worse through this god awful illness.

Denise has been told she is unable to drive her normal car. She has been ripped of her independence and dignity. If she is to remain in any way independent she will need a new car that will be modified with hand controls, a lifting harness and a scooter so she can get in and out of the car. She has three sons. One of which is only 1 year old. It is a very difficult time for the family as they come to terms with the huge and costly changes to be made in their lives and home to cope with Denises new diagnosis.

But with your help, we can raise some funds for Denise to modify her car and home and depending on funds, can get HSCT treatment which is an intensive chemo treatment that aims to wipe out the damage MS does to your cells and tries to regrow your immune system.

This treatment itself is incredibly expensive, ranging from between €60-80,000 and not the kind of money anyone has lying around. It will be a long road for Denise but we need to try and do something sooner rather than later.
