Peace everyone.
Please help my cousin find her ultimate peace. Please help my family find peace as well. Denise “Chica” Moses has been on our minds and heavy hearts for the past few years as we navigated through her addiction and mental illness. On Saturday morning, our beloved Chica was found dead in a parking lot possibly due to exposure and hypothermia. This loss is truly devastating. My cousin was so much more than her addiction and mental illness. She truly was of light and warmth. Despite her pain and struggles, she somehow managed to wear her usual big grin. Our family truly needs your help since we do not have the funds to give her the final farewell she deserves–paying out of pocket will only drive our family into deeper debt. In a society that has repeatedly turned its back on black women, especially those afflicted with the triple threat of mental illness, addiction, and poverty, the least we can do is give her a proper farewell. Not only will your help allow her to transition with dignity and love, but it will also provide wellness and peace for her two young children (one of which is autistic), her mother, and her sisters. Anything helps. We all know how expensive poverty is. This money is the most powerful and tangible resource that can provide healing and wellness. Chica has left our realm, but those she has left behind need to continue to survive. I cannot stress enough that it is not possible without your help. Thank you in advanced and with love.
