Although her journey didn’t include the opportunity to pursue an undergraduate degree, she instilled in me the values of hard work, faith, and perseverance. To gain firsthand experience in public service and policy, I chose to intern at the district level even though the position was unpaid. This experience allowed me to learn directly from local leaders, better understand the challenges facing our communities, and deepen my commitment to advocacy and representation.

<div>Now, I have been offered a congressional internship in Washington, D.C. - the heart of American democracy. This opportunity will allow me to work alongside lawmakers, contribute to meaningful policy discussions, and develop the skills necessary to become an effective advocate for underrepresented communities.

<div>However, the cost of housing and transportation in D.C. is beyond what I can manage alone. While the internship generously covers meals and some daily expenses, I am seeking support to secure safe housing and reliable transportation so I can fully participate in this transformative experience.
