Help Brenda and Bryce

Time is a luxury we can’t always afford when it comes to our health. When Brenda Wilson noticed a discolored mole on her leg in November, she didn’t waste time in getting to the doctor. She knew it was an opportunity to prevent a potentially life-threatening illness. The doctor removed the mole and biopsied her tissue, and the test showed it was negative for malignancy. Good news, right?

Recently, however, the mole grew back. Brenda returned to her physician for another biopsy. This time, the news was bad. Brenda was diagnosed with Stage II Melanoma and rushed to surgery in a city two hours away. She had two sizable tissue removals done on the spot. She is currently scheduled for additional surgery to remove her lymph nodes to help prevent the spread of infection. Depending on the results from her most recent surgery, there may be more procedures to follow.

To add insult to injury, insurance will not cover the costs. Bills are rapidly pouring in. The hospital seems more concerned with payment than they do procedure, and this hard-working single mother of a young son is in desperate financial need.

If ever there were a mother and son so close, they would be Brenda and her five-year-old son, Bryce. Their bond is so strong, there is nothing that could break it. Brenda is worried that she will be unable to give her son the opportunity he deserves if her health or finances fail her.

Last year, Brenda’s brother was seriously injured and unable to cover pricey medical costs and care for his family.
