Some of you may be aware that my husband and best friend sadly has vascular dementia and is now in a nursing home. Dementia is cruel as it takes away so many things from not only the individual but family as well.

Our son Elliott decided a year ago that he was going to train to run a 100k marathon. He has done it and today is the day of that run.

He didn't want any fuss or raising funds as it was "just something he wanted to do".

I feel differently and would like to see something come out of his hard work and commitment. If anyone can spare a bit of money, I'd like his dad's nursing home, which is primarily dementia , be able to benefit. The home is full of very dedicated and lovely nursing staff, and we know that Steve is safe and well looked after
