$40,000 is our first goal to getting this project started.

Pseads ("seeds") is an educational nonprofit built on the premise that the deepest way for change, and most effective and compassionate solution to any problem, begins from engagment of heart and mind together.

Our approach to education starts from the place most approaches end - we start from the knowledge and wisdom  within every human being, and use science, story and writing to reveal that knowledge and wisdom.

The Delta Project arises from work with over 10,000 students, and the collection of more than 50,000 poems - 50,000 acts of courage that articate ways of being that are compassionate, cooperative, revolutionary.

WHY PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROJECT?

This project is a step toward a movement for peace  and self-discovery designed to benefit people of all ages and backgrounds, led by one of the most undervalued and underestimated groups: youth.

While the world is chaotic, full of conflict, young people see oceans, stars, wonder; while there is distrust and division, they see peace, love, family.

This project will spark essential conversations about how we can view ourselves, the people around us, and the world we live in with greater appreciation, depth and dignity.  Language has the power to open new ways of seeing, and with them, new ways of living and loving.

THE DELTA PROJECT - OVERVIEW:
With the news full of stories of heartbreak and division, it is a crucial time to invest in young people giving courageous new voice to the depth and potential of our individual and shared humanity!

We are the map on a journey to peace,
me you everyone has peace inside them.
- Devin, Grade 3

Help us transform a decade of learning with students in Grade 2 - College into a book and short documentary film written, developed, designed and produced with students, that lay forth a vision, call for peace, and ethic of care that includes everyone.

The Delta Project for Peace empowers young people with the tools, support and platform to share their knowledge and voices with a wider audience, spreading their message of the power of unity.

Young people will reawaken the world to beauty, connectedness and the power of every breath, smile, word, and moment of awareness to change the world. How we listen for/to them makes the difference.

THIS PROJECT:
* Changes the way people view youth and what they are capable of; and the way youth view themselves.
* Gives new sense for what can be achieved through approaches to education that value cultivating the overall humanity of young people.
* Gives young people a chance to tell a story of connection and belonging in ways that integrate science and art, and heart and mind as one narrative.

"Life's Caravan"
Life's caravan passes
A quiet renegade
Breathing in the breath of existence
The history of the universe
Is revealed
Memoir of a lifetime
The ecology of us
A world not yet seen.
- Sophia, Grade 7

WHAT'S POSSIBLE:
The reflective capacity, clarity, boundless compassion, and heart exhibited by young people offers a path toward a more peaceful world - one that is unseen in the midst of turmoil and the demands of school, work and life. This project invites them to give language to some of their inner thoughts and responses to the science and ideas to which they are exposed.

This is now their project and vision, and includes more than 100 students in the oversight, design and production of the book and documentary that will become a first wave of The Delta Project for Peace. We want to the world to experience how inspiring young people can be, and how important it is to nurture and expand this experience.

Here is a sample selection of ideas from some of the students that we will turn into a written and visual story and message for the world:

Between bells of life,
a belt of atoms,
musical waves of nitrogen.
Blue, I hear
heartbeats of the universe.
- Justin, Grade 5

On a day when radiance glows
warmth runs through me
like a sweet silk lavender
blowing in the soft breeze
it dances with color
arms stretched out
breathing in the blue, peacefulness
it dances with numbers
sliding down forgotten words
looking for something
unknown
as the sea ripples
the grass bounces playfully
and translucent fog
settles
on its way
home.
- Emma, Grade 6
