Hello to all our friends and those who love families everywhere! Many of you know us, we are Bruno and Angela Da Re.
Our passion over the last 10 years has been to reach struggling families with family relationship classes that are designed to teach skills that help create family bonding, positive communication, and monitoring children’s and teen’s activities.
When parents and youth attend the classes together and practice the skills, the classes have been proven to reduce teen alcohol and drug use, delinquency and depression – all major risk-factors for school failure and teen suicide -- and create stronger, more loving families, which improves children’s mental health, personal resilience, and school performance.
Recently, the agency we worked for filed bankruptcy and closed its doors. But the foundation we were being funded by told us that if we would raise the startup funds and start a nonprofit, they would give us the grant to continue serving the families. We have been working diligently to get everything in place, we have 100 participants and 10 staff signed up to start the next class, we started the paperwork, created a website, Delta Prevention Website! and began meeting with potential Board members but we are asking for help. To start a nonprofit, the fees alone are close to $1500. Plus, we have equipment and supply costs not covered by the grant (an additional $2000.)
Our team is ready to begin, the families are signed up but to make this work, we need you. Because we're not yet a nonprofit, your funds are not tax deductible but please consider them a seed, sown into the lives of the families we serve and the generations beyond them. Thank you so much!
