Delores Hoffman Memorial Donations

Early in the morning on March 2nd, my mom passed away. She had been fighting a hard battle with lung cancer for almost a year. She spent that evening with her kids and grandkids and husband and gave her last breath while I held her hand. She loved her family, and her grandbabies, more than anything in this world. We are so glad that her last hours were filled with the loud laughter and bickering of her loved ones, and that she did not die alone. She is no longer suffering, but that does not take away our pain.

My mom was a beautiful person, inside and out. There was no one more generous than her, no one more giving and compassionate, and no one funnier than her. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, and her personality and smile filled a room. Anyone you ask would have thousands of wonderful memories to share about my mom. And about half of those people would say she was their mom, too. (She basically raised half the neighborhood).

We are forgoing a traditional funeral service and instead hosting a memorial service for her in a week or so. We want to bring all those who loved her together to celebrate her life. There is a part of us missing, a part that will probably never feel full again, but we can try to feel whole again.  This memorial is a start to our healing process.

As is the case with many people who have been struggling with a chronic illness, medical bills have piled high. We are asking for donations to help make this memorial service possible for us.
